- Real-time Eligibility: Therapists can now instantly verify a patient’s coverage when submitting information via UHC’s portal. This means treatment can start the same day as the initial consultation, if clinically appropriate.
- Shortened Submission Form: For plans requesting 6 or fewer visits within 8 weeks, providers can use a simplified form without additional documentation.
- Automatic Approval: The first 6 visits are immediately approved. Any visits beyond that will be reviewed for medical necessity.
- No Need to Wait: Treatment can begin even before formal authorization is granted — as long as it’s within the 6-visit, 8-week window.
