MVP offers Medicare Advantage options, but the available plan depends on your location and year. Its HMO-POS and PPO products should not be treated as interchangeable. Start with the exact plan offered at your home address.

Understand the network label
HMO-POS includes a point-of-service feature, but that does not mean all out-of-network care is covered without restrictions. A PPO generally provides covered out-of-network options at different cost sharing. Read the actual Evidence of Coverage for the service you expect to use.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Primary care and specialists | Participation must match the exact network. |
| Out-of-network benefits | Covered services, approvals and your share may differ. |
| Medical spending limit | Compare in-network and combined limits where applicable. |
| Additional benefits | Read allowances, eligibility and provider restrictions. |
Confirm that a provider will see you
MVP states that noncontracted providers generally do not have to treat members except in emergencies. Therefore, an out-of-network benefit is not a promise that every practice will accept the plan. Confirm both coverage and willingness to bill before planned care.
Build your comparison
- Choose the coverage year and verify your service area.
- Check current doctors, hospitals and regular services.
- Compare premiums, deductibles, copays and medical limits.
- Review Part D inclusion and its separate coverage documents.
- Read the Annual Notice of Change if you already have MVP.
A zero plan premium does not eliminate the Part B premium or other costs. Do not choose a plan based on an extra benefit alone.
Keep the enrollment record
Joining requires Medicare eligibility, residence and a valid enrollment period. Keep the application receipt, confirmation and effective date. A quote or completed comparison worksheet is not enrollment.
