Blue Shield of California Medicare Advantage coverage depends on the exact product and service area. Its Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and other insurance materials are separate. A general Blue Shield name or logo is not enough to establish benefits.
Identify the insurer and product

Confirm the medical group as well as the doctor
For an HMO arrangement, ask which primary-care doctor and medical group you would use and how specialists are accessed. A physician may participate through particular offices or groups. Confirm the actual appointment location and any referral or approval requirement.
