Major updates are coming to Medicare in 2025 — especially in prescription drug coverage — and these changes can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
At Medicare Advisors, we make it our mission to keep our clients fully informed and help them get the best coverage at the lowest cost, especially during the crucial Open Enrollment period.
4 Key Medicare Changes for 2025
1. New $2,000 Annual Cap on Drug Spending
Starting in 2025, Medicare beneficiaries will pay no more than $2,000 per year for prescription medications. Once this cap is reached, you’ll pay nothing more for the rest of the year, regardless of the medication’s cost.
✅ A game-changer for those who rely on high-cost prescriptions.
2. Drug Plan Premiums May Change — But Average Costs Are Dropping
While some Part D plans might raise premiums slightly, the average premium is decreasing from $53.95 in 2024 to $46.50 in 2025. Regulatory measures are in place to keep these increases in check.
3. Pay Drug Costs Over Time
From 2025 onward, you’ll be able to split your drug costs into monthly payments instead of paying all at once at the pharmacy — with no interest or extra charges.
4. Part B Premium and Deductible Increases
- Monthly premium: $185
- Annual deductible: $257
💡 But don’t worry — Medicare Advisors can help you find savings programs or special plans to reduce or eliminate these costs if you qualify.
