Some AARP Medicare Supplement policyholders have access to Renew Active fitness services through UnitedHealthcare. Fitness access is separate from standardized Medigap insurance benefits. The plan letter alone does not establish eligibility at a particular gym.

Confirm your own access
Start with the official member account or the number on your policy card. Ask whether your current policy includes the program in your area and how to activate it. A membership with AARP alone is not the same as being insured under an eligible supplement policy. Have the policy card available when requesting confirmation; a gym advertisement is not proof of your eligibility.
Questions for a fitness location
| Question | What to obtain |
|---|---|
| Does this location participate? | Confirmation for the current program and location. |
| What membership level is included? | Included facilities, classes and any access restrictions. |
| Are there extra charges? | Prices for optional classes, services or upgrades. |
| What information is needed? | Official registration or confirmation details. |
Read the program's current terms
The insurer's wellness-extras page describes gym access and online fitness options. Participating locations and offerings can vary, and noninsurance services may change or be discontinued. A friend with a different policy or address may have different access.
Ask before signing a separate gym contract or providing payment details. Do not assume a membership purchased independently will be reimbursed later.
Keep the insurance decision broader
Compare medical cost sharing, policy premiums, renewal terms and enrollment rights before changing Medigap. An optional fitness service should not be the only reason to replace insurance, especially if a new application could require health underwriting.
Discuss appropriate activity with your clinician if you have health concerns. This guide explains how to verify a program; it does not prescribe exercise or promise health outcomes.
