AARP Medicare Advantage Walgreens plans: verify the current product

Separate an older Walgreens-branded plan name from current UnitedHealthcare coverage, provider networks and the documents needed for comparison.

An older “AARP Medicare Advantage Walgreens” name does not confirm that a product is currently offered at your address. Start with UnitedHealthcare's current Medicare resources, your ZIP code and county, and the exact plan identifier.

The store name does not define the medical network

A retailer's name in a plan title does not tell you which doctors or hospitals participate. Check medical providers separately. It also does not promise that every store transaction is covered or that all members receive the same additional benefits.

HMO and PPO are different arrangements

An HMO generally uses a network for routine care, subject to its exceptions. A PPO can allow covered care outside the network, but costs and conditions depend on the contract. The provider must be willing to treat you and accept the applicable arrangement. Neither label guarantees every service or office.

Question Where to check
Is this product current? Plan search and enrollment notice.
Did its name or benefits change? Annual Notice of Change.
What is covered? Evidence of Coverage and benefit summary.
Is my doctor included? Current directory and direct office confirmation.

Compare more than the premium

Include the continuing Part B premium, any plan premium, deductibles, visit costs and medical out-of-pocket limit. Review routine dental, vision or fitness benefits only where the exact documents list them. Do not transfer a benefit from another UnitedHealthcare product to this one.

Before submitting a change

  • Confirm your enrollment period and effective date.
  • Check effects on any employer or union coverage.
  • Save the application and acceptance notice.
  • Use verified member-service contacts for account questions.

This guide corrects older general descriptions; it does not endorse a current plan or quote benefits for an unidentified product. A Licensed Insurance Agent can help compare represented options using the current documents.
