Some Wellcare Medicare Advantage plans include hearing benefits. Enrollment in Medicare Part B alone does not give you a Wellcare hearing-aid benefit, and a standalone Part D plan is not the same as Medicare Advantage.

Find the vendor for your plan
Read the hearing section in your current Evidence of Coverage. Wellcare directs members to the hearing vendor identified there for benefit questions and appointments. Confirm the participating office with that vendor; a general insurance-directory listing may not establish participation in the separate hearing program.
Check each part of the benefit
| Service | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Hearing exam | Routine versus diagnostic purpose, frequency and copayment. |
| Hearing aid | Covered options, allowance or copayment and replacement interval. |
| Fitting and follow-up | Included visits and charges for additional services. |
| Batteries and repairs | Included supplies, warranty and exclusions. |
Ask for an itemized estimate and whether prices are per ear or for a pair. Do not assume a benefit maximum covers the full purchase price.
At the appointment
Bring your Wellcare member card. If you have combined Medicare and Medicaid coverage, bring the relevant Medicaid card too. Ask the office to verify how the coverages coordinate rather than assuming every balance is your responsibility.
Some plans permit eligible hearing expenses through Wellcare Spendables. Confirm that use with the actual plan; the card is not an unrestricted payment account and benefits differ.
Before committing to an order
- Confirm the provider and proposed purchase meet the plan's rules.
- Get written return, trial, repair and loss terms.
- Ask which charges remain after the benefit is applied.
- Keep receipts and the coverage response.
Contact the vendor or member services about a disputed charge. A licensed hearing professional should address clinical suitability; insurance coverage alone does not identify the right device.
